Yet potatoes are a great source of Vitamin E. Carrots has been known to help promote healthy vision and weight. And corn is a very healthy addition to any well balanced meal. None of these foods will harm you if they are cooked and consumed in the right way. Buy frozen vegetables instead of canned ones to eliminate excess sodium. Flash steam your veggies or eat them raw to get the most out of them nutritionally.

What about white flour? You may have heard that you should avoid it because it’s bleached and there’s no nutrition in it. This is true. Bleached flour is often excluded in weight loss formulas, because it is actually one of the causes of weight gain. But this doesn’t mean you should stop eating all starches period. You can switch to wheat flour and wheat products instead. It may sound unappealing, but wheat is actually better for your digestive system. It helps keep you regular, and it’s nutritious. Is sugar considered a carbohydrate? No. Carbohydrates are broken down into sugar when digested by the body, but consuming sugar doesn’t mean you’re consuming carbs.
